Is Maldives worth the hype?

Well.. YES.

To be completely honest... Maldives has never been at the top of places I wanted to see. I don't even think it was in top 10.

I decided to go the the Maldives mainly because it was my sisters dream. It's the place she would not stop talking about... and oh man, I am SO happy I did go.

Let me put this simply - it's my favourite place I have ever visited so far. And I have been to 30 countries already.

From the first moment we have arrived I knew it will be amazing. But what I saw when we arrived in Ukulhas exceeded my expectations.

The very first thing I realised were people - Maldivian people are the most kind people I have ever met. Their hospitality and kindness can be seen straight away.

Secondly, the nature, THE WATER, the weather?! I have never seen water so blue.

After seeing all the Instagram pictures, I thought the water won't be as blue but I can confirm it is even nicer in real life. The sand is perfectly white and clean.

The island that we went to - Ukulhas - is well known for it's waste management system so there was no trash anywhere on the island! Also, this is local island, not so well known, and there is no luxurious resorts on this island.

Maldives offers so much.. from snorkeling, to excursion to a sandbank it has it all.

We have been taken to watch sharks, turtles and mantras which was a perfect activity for the afternoon.

Also, if you are looking for a place where you can relax - Maldives is perfect for it. We didn't do much whilst we where there and I was a little afraid that it would be too boring for me... but I enjoyed every minute, and I would come back there in a heartbeat.
